КотХаарs are eternal sentinels of the Старшие боги, tasked to guarding the Линза, a device of the Старшие боги that was made to ensure that Gielinor's sun gave the right amount of heat to the world. They kept the lens safe in Сумрачные пески. Sometime during the God Wars, Фузан had taken over Сумрачные пески and found the lens. He sieges it and uses it to turn Сумрачные пески into a vast desert wasteland, where the heat from the sun scorches those that walks through the sands. This causes the KotHaar to fall under Fuzan's control, where he forces them to move the lens towards his tower where he would use it to summon Sandstorms and ensure his lair is protected from anyone who would try to invade it.
