Ascension cores are items used and crafted in the mystic forge to ascend masterwork weapons from their base power level to the next tier. They are made by combining ascension shards or by collecting them as rewards for completing Горнило кошмаров instances in Сумрачные пески. For most cores, players can gain core shards by killing mini-bosses (such as red dragons, green dragons, and blue dragons).

The only core that cannot be crafted thus far is the power level 7 ascension core, which can only be acquired by completing the Горнило кошмаров.

Note: It is a known issue that the shards and recipe to create power level 7 ascension cores are in the game and the developers will be removing the recipe in the Rage of Kuldra update. While players can acquire the shards to make the power level 7 ascension cores through gold reward packs from the Лавовые поля agility course, this is also a known issue as, once patched out, may corrupt player saves.

Imagine, if you will, what you could do if you could harness your dreams. If you could take an ideal, refine it and reforge it using the power of the imagination. Such a technology is terrifying in its potential, and Avisk was the first to explore its possibilities.

This core is a part of the nightmare, refined and reforged over and over again, then condescended into a singularity and sealed within dragonkin technology. It is a mote of potential, waiting to be released.

The technology is limited for now. Ависк was only able to use it to improve his existing equipment, as well as to empower the beasts he trapped in the nightmare dreamscape. Fortunately, limited as it might be, you should find this technology particularly useful, as it will allow you upgrade and improve some of your more unique equipment, such as masterwork gear.
